Some of You all used to be Monkees Fans. Or at least knew of them

This is very important.
The Petition is dead. If you've ever looked at it then you'll see that the names and the age of it makes it dead. Not even I would take it seriously and I am FOR the cause.
So, help your Monkees out.
I'm currently getting the word to the Monkees themselves. As well as other big Monkees sites that are still active such as MonkeeLand.
Help out? Pass the word? Get it every where.
I'm tired if sitting down doing nothing about this.
Which I know I For one am NOT sitting around. I'm getting the word to the Monkees themselves. All communities I can find. Sites that are still active. Everything and everywhere i can think of.
So.... join us?
Even if you just print it out, sign it, and send it. It'll still help.
And now, Monkee Spam-ish loose telling who they are and failing as I fall into Monkee Spam
The Monkees.
Some random biographys that i find online
1)
The Monkees were a made-for-TV musical group formed in 1965 when the producers Bob Rafelson and Bert Schneider advertised for band members in Variety. The next year the zany comedy TV show The Monkees debuted with the band's four members: drummer Micky Dolenz (b. 8 March 1945 in Los Angeles, California), bassist Peter Tork (b. 13 February 1942 in Washington, D.C.), guitarist Michael Nesmith (b. 30 December 1942 in Houston, Texas) and heartthrob singer Davy Jones (b. 30 December 1945 in Manchester, England). The show was a surprise hit and the Monkees became a pop phenomenon, releasing albums and even a movie (1968's Head). At first the band members did little more than sing on their albums, though later they began to play instruments and write some of their own songs. Their albums included The Monkees (1966) and Headquarters (1967), with hit singles including "Pleasant Valley Sunday," "I'm a Believer" (written by Neil Diamond) and "Last Train to Clarksville." The TV show ended in 1968 and Tork left the group the same year. Nesmith left in 1969 and by the end of 1970 The Monkees had fizzled out. The band regrouped without Nesmith in the 1980s and continue to make occasional appearances together. The Monkees also blazed a trail for future pre-fab bands like The Partridge Family and The Spice Girls.
It's true: Mike Nesmith's mother invented the office product Liquid Paper... Nesmith wrote the Linda Ronstadt hit "Different Drum"... Head was co-written by Jack Nicholson and included a brief appearance by Frank Zappa... In 1986 Tork, Jones and Dolenz released the reunion album Pool It!.
Now I'm tired of looking. Really if you don't know anything about them the best thing to do is like, just look at fan sites and youtube.
That thing up there gives you basics. When they were made. Basically as a TV show. They got so big they HAD to make albums though. The Monkees was the first. Then More of the Monkees.
Donnie Kirshner was the head of releases and such. The Monkees were not allowed to play their instruments. Despite popular and wrong belief they COULD play instruments just not allowed to.
Threw some events (including but not limited to Mike Nesmith punching his fist threw Donnie Kirshners bungalow wall) they got creative control.
'Headquarters' their 3 album and some call their first real one was in early 67.
The monkees had already toured before that (playing thier instruments) and in headquarters it was the old fashion long nights recording sessions with them playing, singing and in control.
Also from then on Mike wrote most of/all of his songs and the others wrote songs a lot more to.
Also then on they had their control, though no other albums did they have late night recording sessions like Headquarters.
The show ran for 58 episodes. And in the music area they hit many firsts and accomplishments, as the letter in the 'about this video' section station in that link.
After 10,20 and even 30+ years they still got back together even though the group had broken up officially in 70 i think. (Peter left first, then Mike then Davy and Micky let it go.
I really can't think of anything else at the moment, i'm wrapped up in this song.
Here's some youtube songs/show clips.
The one with the solo is Micky... one of my favorite solos of all time. I don't even LIKE the Spanish language. Then the end where they show all the crew is cool

Randy Scouse Git known as Alternate Title in the UK for obvious reasons. (I think it translates to Horny Guy from Liverpool Idiot or something. No he didn't mean to either)
